Hotdogs & Hope Ministry
ministerio cristiano

Jesús les dijo: Yo soy el Pan de la Vida; el que a mí viene, nunca tendrá hambre; y el que en mí cree, no tendrá sed jamás. Juan 6:35

Helping those in need ...

... by feeding them ...

... clothing them ...

... and praying with them.

Hotdogs & Hope began its crusade to serve the homeless of Ft. Worth, TX, in the fall of 1996. It began with one man and a vision, that actively going out into the streets and delivering a much-needed meal and the message of Jesus would give the homeless what they lack the most: hope.

After some 12 years now the vision has not changed. The mission of the group is to feed them, love them, clothe them and then discuss the real reason for our dedication to be there every week, to give them the Gospel.

Our mission: Love our brothers, feed them, clothe them, and finally share with them the Good News of Christ Jesus.

We have some 8 to 20+ volunteers weekly to help pass out 650 hot dogs, 20+ gallons of orange juice, clothes, and lots of love. The hot dogs are prepared in Grand Prairie Family Church every Saturday morning starting at 5:00am. During the winter, we provide gloves and hats. We have clothing drives as far away as Massachusetts and have had two golf tournaments to help supply needed funds.

At first, the homeless would not even talk with the small group that would come out every Saturday morning. After some three months, the homeless knew the group was real and wanted genuinely to help and not look down on them due to the circumstances that they were in. Today, after 12 years, the Homeless line up orderly waiting to get the food but, more importantly, to see and say hello to the group.

We have a prayer circle after each stop. Salvations, rededications, healings, deliverances, and reconciliations are among a few witnessed answered prayers. You get so many blessings that it just overwhelms each individual that comes to help. The hardest thing during the Saturday morning is the last stops where the children are located. So many volunteers have been touched when you see the smiles, hugs and now their own prayer circle.

"Love God with all your heart ..."

Our service to our fellow man must first come from a heart that loves God and wants to share that love of Christ in a tangible, non-intimidating way.

Hotdogs & Hope servants learn to love, serve and not judge. It's because we are all debtors to the unfathomable grace of Christ!

We transcend sectarian barriers in the pursuit of Christ's command of love and service to our local area. Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Nazarene, and non-denominational congregations are represented in this outreach to the community.
